The Olympic shot put champion won a medal but when they checked Nadzeya Ostapchuk for a drug test she did not pass the test. Baron de Coubertin designed the Olympics flag during 1913 to 1914. The Olympic five rings represent the Olympic flag. Did you know that the rings represent five parts of the world joined together in the Olympic movement? They are Africa,the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Term Reflection

Multimedia/ICT:
This term I have learnt how to make an IMovie by myself.

I have been making a Pop Art face and and making some animations.

What I haven’t done so well in Multimedia is not putting my work on my IMovie.

Next term I will improve putting my work on my IMovie.

Maths:
This term I have learnt my strategies with my teacher and decades with tens.

I have been good at counting back in tens and adding tens.

What I haven't done so well in Maths is not adding ones but I add the tens.

What I will improve next term is to write in my Maths book properly and not rush.

Reading:
This term I have learnt how to read books and complete my work in time.

I have been going up to the next level of my reading age and doing well with my reading comprehension.

The thing that I have not done so well in reading this term is not finishing off my work don’t do the answers of my reading sheet.

Next term I will improve my reading by finishing off my work and making sure I listen to my teacher when we are working together.

Art Gallery

WOW! It was so cool when Room 14 went to the Art Gallery because there was cool arts. I liked  the flowers because it has cool colours and when I saw Room 14 faces it was so nice.I was so excited that we went to see the Art Gallery because there was    heaps of arts and there was some music.

When we got in there I saw some really cool art and I was liking our art because it had bright colours and we were swapping the colours around.Then we went to look at the other art.


My Favourite art was Room 4 because their flowers were so beautiful and they have good drawing I knew that they can do it because they are pretty good drawers.I liked their art because the coloured it in and they did a good job.


Finally we went back to class.I had a very excited feeling because Room 14 went to the Art Gallery.

Clay Workshop

   


Last Wednesday Room 14 and 17 went to the trip and we had parent helpers and it was Tamati and Yvette to help us. Room 14 had Miss V.When we were ready we went to the hall and we waited for Room 17 and while we were waiting we were playing hand games with our friends and the parents were talking. At school when the bell rang we went to the bus and when the bus was moving it was so noisy. Me and the other girls were singing songs and Miss Ouano had sore ears because we were singing baby songs.

When we got there we had to cross the road and we walked all the way inside and when we got inside we went into this little room and Sue was telling us the instructions. Room 17 went for a swim first in the heated pool and Room 14 were making some clay. Before we started Sue was getting the clay ready and we have to draw our designs to do on our clay.

After that Sue gave us some clay and it was so gooey when I got some clay, I cut the clay to make it the same size as the cardboard that we had.Next we have to spread the slip on the edges and roll out the coil to make it stick on the edges and put some slip on the coil that we rolled.

When we finish that then we have to put our beautiful design. I did a octopus with a smiley on it face and some legs. After that we had to give our designed clay to Georgia so we can put some coloured glass and then Georgia has to put it inside the kiln to get cook and when it ready there's going to be like glass on the edges.

When we finished doing our clay design we went to the pool but it wasn't heated but we were still swimming in it. Then we all got changed back into our uniform and went back into the
little room. Finally we arrived back to school and it was nearly lunch time.

P.E.P.A. Showcase

On Wednesday we watched the P.E.P.A. performance and that was their concert for the audience.When I was watching I was so excited because they did so well and before the performance began there was smoke coming out from the side and some people were coughing.




The first performance was the boys haka and some little kids were scared because of the boys faces.But when Toko was coming in the front the little kid that was sitting in front of me was crying.




When Emmy, Rebekah, DJ, Ofa, Kevine, and Lizara were dancing it was so cool  because I like how the way they were dancing and the Samoan songs.They were so pretty because they had things on their hands and legs.






Jonita was so good at playing violin and everyone was cheering and clapping because she was really good at playing that instrument.She played two times on that instrument and she was so pretty too.




The Rappers were good too but my favourite Rappers were the girls because they were acting serious and they came in the front by one by one.



Finally we watched the last performance and it the coolest one because he did some tricks and he was from Tamaki College.Then when it was finished all of them came on the stage in lines.

1. How do you feel about the work you did? Why?
When I was Painting I felt nervous because I felt nervous because I painted my hair orange when my T-shirt was orange and then when I decided to paint it purple it looked funny so I grabbed a tissue and just wiped it.

2. What do you feel that you did well? Why?
I felt really excited because I finished my painting and it was so fun when I was using bold colours when I was painting.

3. What do you feel you did not so well? Why?
I didn’t do my hair well because I did not like it how I mixed the orange and purple together.

4. What would you do differently next time? Why?
I would rather make sure I don’t mix the colours together and too much water on my hair.
