Jack And The Magic Harp Structure

Walt: Retell the main parts of the story in the right order.

Orientation/Introduction Who were the characters and what was life like for them? (1st paragraph on page 2)	Answer Jack and his Mum.There was a poor widow who lived with her son Jack.
Problem (2nd paragraph on page 2)	When they had nothing left to eat, Jacks mother sent him off to the fair to sell the brown cow.
Action 1 What did Jack do? (page 2- beginning of 5)	He went to the fair to sell the black cow and then a man came up to him and said would you like to buy a bee with a harp and jack said but I got no money and the little man said if you give me the black cow you can have the bee and the magic harp and he thought it will make his mother laugh.
Problem What did his mother think? (page beginning of 6)	His mother said that he was a foolish boy because he sold the cow for a magic harp with a bee.
Action 2 What did Jack  do? (page 6- beginning of 9)	Jack’s  mother laugh till her side hurt. But she was very angry with him you foolish boy she said.We still have no food and no money. Tomorrow you must sell the white cow.

Action 3 What did Jack had  do? What did his mother think? (page 10 - beginning of 13)	Jack’s  mother laugh till her side hurt. The man asked.Yes I should, said jack. The grasshopper would make my mother laugh. But I have no money.If you give me your cow, said the man, I will give you the grasshopper.
Problem What did his mother think? (page  beginning of 14)	Jacks mother laughed till her sides hurt. But then she was furious with Jack.You foolish boy, she said.We still have nothing to eat and no food, and now all our cows are gone!
Action 4 What was the news? What did Jack do? (pages 14-17)	At the moment a neighbour came by.Have you heard the news? she said. The Kings daughter has not laughed for years. Now the King has promised to let her marry the first man who makes her laugh three times.
Resolution What happened at the end? (pages 18-20)	And that's how Jack won the princess and, in the end a Kingdom.

Once upon a time there was three little pigs.First the three little pigs said “goodbye” to their mother, grew up and went to build their own fortune.

The first little pig was thinking of something to build her house then she went to this lady that had some hay, so she bought some hay and it was so cheap. After that she went and built her own house with the hay and it was easy.

Then here comes a big bad wolf he said “little pig little pig let me come in” then the little pig said “Not by my chinny chin chin” and the big bad wolf said “Then I’ll huff and I’ll Puff and I’ll blow your house down and I’ll eat you up”. So the Big Bad Wolf ate the little pig.

The second little pig was brainer, it was thinking then it went to this lady that had some sticks and it was a bit hard building its house.so she built her house and then she went to sleep.

Then the big bad wolf came and said “little pig little pig let me come in” then the little pig said “Not by my chinny chin chin” and the big bad wolf said “ then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow down your house down and I’ll eat you up”. So the Big BAd Wolf ate the little pig.

The third little pig was so brainy because he was thinking then he went to this man that had some heavy bricks.It was so hard to build because the bricks were so heavy then the little pig built his house and went to sleep.

Then the big bad wolf came he said “little pig little pig let me come in” then the little pig said “not by my chinny chin chin” and the big bad wolf said “then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down, so he huffed and puffed until the house comes down but it was too hard.

So the big bad wolf jumped in the chimney and the little pig put a hot pot that had boiled water in it where the chimney was and when the big bad wolf hopped in the house his bottom got burned.

Finally that was the end of the story about the Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf.

Clay Workshop

   


Last Wednesday Room 14 and 17 went to the trip and we had parent helpers and it was Tamati and Yvette to help us. Room 14 had Miss V.When we were ready we went to the hall and we waited for Room 17 and while we were waiting we were playing hand games with our friends and the parents were talking. At school when the bell rang we went to the bus and when the bus was moving it was so noisy. Me and the other girls were singing songs and Miss Ouano had sore ears because we were singing baby songs.

When we got there we had to cross the road and we walked all the way inside and when we got inside we went into this little room and Sue was telling us the instructions. Room 17 went for a swim first in the heated pool and Room 14 were making some clay. Before we started Sue was getting the clay ready and we have to draw our designs to do on our clay.

After that Sue gave us some clay and it was so gooey when I got some clay, I cut the clay to make it the same size as the cardboard that we had.Next we have to spread the slip on the edges and roll out the coil to make it stick on the edges and put some slip on the coil that we rolled.

When we finish that then we have to put our beautiful design. I did a octopus with a smiley on it face and some legs. After that we had to give our designed clay to Georgia so we can put some coloured glass and then Georgia has to put it inside the kiln to get cook and when it ready there's going to be like glass on the edges.

When we finished doing our clay design we went to the pool but it wasn't heated but we were still swimming in it. Then we all got changed back into our uniform and went back into the
little room. Finally we arrived back to school and it was nearly lunch time.

Oktapodi

My writing is about Oktapodi and that was set in the Greek islands. The main characters were the  female octopus, male  octopus and a chef. Did you know a movie that is very short and it about octopus.

The male octopus was so upset because the chef took the female. But lucky the male octopus hopped on the truck and he went to the window and  had a battle.

My favourite part of the short  film was when the male octopus was having a dangerous battle with the chef in the truck. The chef was slapping the male octopus when the octopus was on the window and trying to open the bucket so he can get the female octopus out.

The dog who chased the lightning

1. Why did the girl need a torch?To look for her dog in the house.

2. Where did she keep the torch?Under her bed in her room.

3. ‘An excited yap told me..’ what do you think the word ‘yap’ mean? Like the dog ran fast as he pass the door.`

Why do you think Midge chased after the torch light?because the girl said she will let him chase it in the garden.

5. ‘Midge went bananas’ what do you think this means?The dog went all jumping and leaping.

6. Why was midge disappointed when the lights came back on?He thought it was a ball.
