Faafetai Netbook Reflection

When I was using pencils and books I felt tiring because my arms always get hurt when I write with my pencil for long. I think that my learning is getting better because typing on my netbook doesn't make me tired.

Some things that I get frustrated is that I can’t focus because some people are talking. The good things about having my netbook is that its good for me to find easy stuff for my work like stuff to write on.

I feel so good because it helps me get more information for my work.

On Saturday I went to my uncles house with my aunt and my cousins. When we got there my uncle was making BBQ and my other cousins were playing cricket.Then we were paying heaps of games and they were called Handball, Soccer, Touch and Baseball.

After we were playing all the games my big cousin took all the kids to Ice Skating and the pools. There was heaps of fun because the kids has to pick if they want to go to the pools or the swimming pools. I picked Ice Skating because we get to take 20 minutes and at the swimming pools my cousin said they only has to have 15 minutes because my aunt was looking after them and she wants to go home early.


After that we had to eat and we went to the KFC to have some lunch and when we went there to eat it was really full because we had heaps of kids and some people wanted to go somewhere else because there was no more chairs to sit on.


Finally we went back home and all the kids had to go to sleep because we went out all day and our parents said we had to go sleep. We had a relaxing day and that was the end of the day.

Sand Casting with Plaser

Room 1 decided to make wall tiles because they were learning about shapes. When they were making their patterns wall tiles they made the shapes identical. What the kids use to remove the sand is that they use the toothbrush to brush it.

Holiday Highlight Recount

In the holidays I went to my auntie’s house and every day we went out for shopping. When we went shopping we buying some clothes for my cousin. That time we were at Otahuhu.On Friday we went to Otara and we were buying us some food first and then I asked my auntie if we could go to the festival and she said yes.


When we went to the festival we first went to paint our faces and my paint face was a colourful butterfly.Then we went to the balloon twisters and we were making heaps of balloon twisters.But when my cousin was making one he popped it because he was twisting it too much.


After that we went to the bouncy castle and my auntie was watching us and we were having fun.
Finally we went back home and we had a nice relaxing day.

Neon Orange Play Dough

Today me and Room fourteen had a experience about making parts in different pieces using
the play dough. Yesterday, my group was splitting parts into different pieces. Miss Ouano was writing the boxes on the book and all of us has to write a fraction on the book.

On Friday we were learning about our fractions and we were put into buddies and we had a plate, some play dough and a bamboo stick. Our teacher was telling us the instructions and our buddies had a paper to put our play dough on it.

My maths group is doing this to help us know how to cut parts into different ways.We just keep learning our experience until we get good. The maths that I’m talking about is fractions and how we cut them in different ways.

I felt good because I was so excited when my maths group was using play dough for our experience. My class was so happy because we were going to use some play dough.

Mum poked her head out of the kitchen door and she jumped and put her hand over her heart. Nathan rushed to the kitchen cupboard and yanked it open.Mum found a cat in the cupboard when Nathan was making loud noise.

 

Cameron Leslie

Did you know that Cameron Leslie is from Northland and he is a 150 metre individual medley champion. His disability was that he had quadruple limb deficiency and he was a good swimmer in the 150 metre individual medley.

He defended his gold medal 4 years ago which was in 2008.
I think that Cameron Leslie is a very good swimmer because it is very hard to swim with one short arm and one long arm.

New Zealand is doing well because there are coming 14th in the paralympics. I am very proud of the kiwis, I hope they catch up and come frist.Cameron Leslie is a very good swimmer he deserves that gold medal.

Silvers Turns Into Gold!

The Olympic shot put champion won a medal but when they checked Nadzeya Ostapchuk for a drug test she did not pass the test. Term Reflection

Multimedia/ICT:
This term I have learnt how to make an IMovie by myself.

I have been making a Pop Art face and and making some animations.

What I haven’t done so well in Multimedia is not putting my work on my IMovie.

Next term I will improve putting my work on my IMovie.

Maths:
This term I have learnt my strategies with my teacher and decades with tens.

I have been good at counting back in tens and adding tens.

What I haven't done so well in Maths is not adding ones but I add the tens.

What I will improve next term is to write in my Maths book properly and not rush.

Reading:
This term I have learnt how to read books and complete my work in time.

I have been going up to the next level of my reading age and doing well with my reading comprehension.

The thing that I have not done so well in reading this term is not finishing off my work don’t do the answers of my reading sheet.

Next term I will improve my reading by finishing off my work and making sure I listen to my teacher when we are working together.

Art Gallery

WOW! It was so cool when Room 14 went to the Art Gallery because there was cool arts. I liked  the flowers because it has cool colours and when I saw Room 14 faces it was so nice.I was so excited that we went to see the Art Gallery because there was    heaps of arts and there was some music.

When we got in there I saw some really cool art and I was liking our art because it had bright colours and we were swapping the colours around.Then we went to look at the other art.


My Favourite art was Room 4 because their flowers were so beautiful and they have good drawing I knew that they can do it because they are pretty good drawers.I liked their art because the coloured it in and they did a good job.


Finally we went back to class.I had a very excited feeling because Room 14 went to the Art Gallery.

Clay Workshop

   


Last Wednesday Room 14 and 17 went to the trip and we had parent helpers and it was Tamati and Yvette to help us. Room 14 had Miss V.When we were ready we went to the hall and we waited for Room 17 and while we were waiting we were playing hand games with our friends and the parents were talking. At school when the bell rang we went to the bus and when the bus was moving it was so noisy. Me and the other girls were singing songs and Miss Ouano had sore ears because we were singing baby songs.

When we got there we had to cross the road and we walked all the way inside and when we got inside we went into this little room and Sue was telling us the instructions. Room 17 went for a swim first in the heated pool and Room 14 were making some clay. Before we started Sue was getting the clay ready and we have to draw our designs to do on our clay.

After that Sue gave us some clay and it was so gooey when I got some clay, I cut the clay to make it the same size as the cardboard that we had.Next we have to spread the slip on the edges and roll out the coil to make it stick on the edges and put some slip on the coil that we rolled.

When we finish that then we have to put our beautiful design. I did a octopus with a smiley on it face and some legs. After that we had to give our designed clay to Georgia so we can put some coloured glass and then Georgia has to put it inside the kiln to get cook and when it ready there's going to be like glass on the edges.

When we finished doing our clay design we went to the pool but it wasn't heated but we were still swimming in it. Then we all got changed back into our uniform and went back into the
little room. Finally we arrived back to school and it was nearly lunch time.

P.E.P.A. Showcase

On Wednesday we watched the P.E.P.A. performance and that was their concert for the audience.When I was watching I was so excited because they did so well and before the performance began there was smoke coming out from the side and some people were coughing.




The first performance was the boys haka and some little kids were scared because of the boys faces.But when Toko was coming in the front the little kid that was sitting in front of me was crying.




When Emmy, Rebekah, DJ, Ofa, Kevine, and Lizara were dancing it was so cool  because I like how the way they were dancing and the Samoan songs.They were so pretty because they had things on their hands and legs.






Jonita was so good at playing violin and everyone was cheering and clapping because she was really good at playing that instrument.She played two times on that instrument and she was so pretty too.




The Rappers were good too but my favourite Rappers were the girls because they were acting serious and they came in the front by one by one.



Finally we watched the last performance and it the coolest one because he did some tricks and he was from Tamaki College.Then when it was finished all of them came on the stage in lines.

1. How do you feel about the work you did? Why?
When I was Painting I felt nervous because I felt nervous because I painted my hair orange when my T-shirt was orange and then when I decided to paint it purple it looked funny so I grabbed a tissue and just wiped it.

2. What do you feel that you did well? Why?
I felt really excited because I finished my painting and it was so fun when I was using bold colours when I was painting.

3. What do you feel you did not so well? Why?
I didn’t do my hair well because I did not like it how I mixed the orange and purple together.

4. What would you do differently next time? Why?
I would rather make sure I don’t mix the colours together and too much water on my hair.

Andy Warhol Biography

I really enjoy looking at the bright colours and bold lines that are used for Andy Warhol’s art. Warhol was a pop artist who was full of life and talent.Andy Warhol was an American pop art and he liked to use the bright colours.



Andy Warhol was born in  August 6th 1928 and he liked to be an artist.He was born at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.His parents came from Slovakia and his mum used to help him.
When Andy Warhol had a disease of chorea and when he had the disease.When he was sick he collected celebrities and his mum gave him magazines and he cut them out for his celebrities.



Andy Warhola went to Schenley High School.Warhol did not have any friends because he was quiet, shockingly pale and white blonde hair.Andy liked to go movies and started a collection of celebrities, Autographs and  photos.What Warhol did at university was graduated at high school and then went to Carnegie design.



In 1960’s Warhol began creating the paintings he is best known he is best known today.
Andy added Cambell Tomato Soups, Coca Cola Drinks and Brillo to his supermarket products.
Andy Warhola did his art at The Factory where his studio was.There was art people, celebrities people and he was always around people when he went to The Factory.


Andy died in 1967 after his Gallbladder operation. He was 56 years old when he died.

I think Andy was admirable artist.
I think his art was magnificent.

Swimming Recount

On Monday Room 14 went swimming, and there was three groups. I felt excited because my group were swimming all the way to the end.My group was doing a dolphin and swimming on our backs.

When we got there we took off our uniform and went for a rinse. I was in group two and my instructor nadely. The people in my group was DJ, Rave, Taka, Calvin, Josephine, Jonson and Byron.

My group was learning to swim without breathing, so we were swimming all the way to the end but I was breathing so I have to stop. My instructor was telling me to go to the end and come back.

I did not feel that well because my eyes were
hurting so badly and I was so cold on Tuesday.I hope I can get into the group three because that is a big and I can learn faster.I think  was doing well because I swam all the way to the end on Wednesday and my instructor said I went fifteen metres.

Did you know  that Andy Warhol  does pop arts and he got shot three times by a mad woman. Andy Warhol is a popular artist.

Andy Warhol  Style of art is called pop art.Andy Warhol does pop art and draws celebrities that are famous. He draws supermarkets and swaps colours around.

Andy Warhol was using shoes to draw,tomato soup, mickey mouse, Michael Jackson, flowers and cocoa cola drinks.He was using inverted colours and he screen print stuff.

I think my writing was pretty good because I have some details and I really like my paragraph two because it has a lot of detail.I think my story about Andy Warhol was so good because it has cool sentences.

My Favourite Things

Oktapodi

My writing is about Oktapodi and that was set in the Greek islands. The main characters were the  female octopus, male  octopus and a chef. Did you know a movie that is very short and it about octopus.

The male octopus was so upset because the chef took the female. But lucky the male octopus hopped on the truck and he went to the window and  had a battle.

My favourite part of the short  film was when the male octopus was having a dangerous battle with the chef in the truck. The chef was slapping the male octopus when the octopus was on the window and trying to open the bucket so he can get the female octopus out.

Year Five and Six Camp

On Wednesday the year 5 and 6 went to camp with all their stuff packed in their big bags.
We went to our tents and named them. Then we put our big bags in our tent with our stuff and our sleeping bags because the teacher told us to set up our beds and pillows.

On Thursday we did more activities but most thing I like was at swimarama pools and roller blades. When we went kayaking and it was fun but I keep falling in the water because I wasn’t paddling the paddles.

At night I was sleeping with my friend. I was so scared because I heard strange noises in the dark. I up woke in night and I started giggling in my sleeping bag and I fell asleep because I wasn't scared.

I felt some pain in my throat because I was coughing. The teacher gave me a cup of water and some panadol for me to drink. When she gave me a drink of water I felt better so I went back to sleep. Before we went to sleep we did a nice prayer so were safe at night. I had a good night with my friend sleeping in the tent.

Blindfold Experience

On Monday Room 14 had a blindfold experience.We had to choose  a partner.

The buddy that is blindfolded had to listen to me because if they don’t listen to me they might have an accident. My buddy was Ofa and she was so excited because she was blindfolded first. 


When I was blindfold I felt scared because I was the first in the game. We had another chance to play and we were so lucky because the other class didn’t come so we had a  fun time. Some people were injured.



We had a exciting day with the blindfold game so we went to class and we were talking about the blindfold game so we can write about it.

Great Things Take Time

Great Things Take Time. I hope I will play netball this year so I can get better at netball. I need to practice playing netball so I can play better.

What I need to make my work perfect is I need to check it and plan what I’m going to write. The reason why it is important to take time for you to do your work is because  you need to make sense and so that readers can read and understand your blog writing.

Guess what? J.K. Rowling sold 450 Million copies of Harry Potters books. She told us that it was her favourite book in the world. J.K Rowling writes good books like Harry Potters books. Before she checked her work she would have to edit it properly.It took her a very long time because she wrote many books.

The main message is about my writing is that great things take time.

My holiday

Holiday Highlight.
In the holiday's I went to my aunties house. In that night we went to the Wendy's for family dinner.I went with my aunty and her children and we had fun.So we went in a bus becuase my auntie had no car so we walked to the bus-stop and we waited for the bus.We went there because it was my birthday and we brought my cake when we arrived back home.Finally I had a excited sleep over.
